Demonstration Gardens

Pollinator Demonstration Garden

The District has planted a small demonstration garden of perennial natives that provide food and shelter for pollinators.  The species included can be used in gardens or in seed mixes for wildflower meadows, habitat patches, or cover crops.  Handouts identifying species and their usefulness to pollinators are available in the nearby holder box, and can also be downloaded by clicking the PDF link.

The root view boxes have a glass side allowing the growth of roots to be observed.  They are set up each summer at the District's equipment building, near the pollinator garden, and planted with a variety of cover crop species.
